The office lights are buzzing, a dull and steady drone, Another Monday morning, yet I never feel alone. I sit across the cubicle, pretending to read the brief, But you are my headline, my purpose, my small, quiet belief.

You don't see the silent movies playing in my head, The times I walk beside you when the last emails are read. We talk about the spreadsheets, the deadlines, and the rain, But my heart's stuck on the simple way you tie your hair again.

I know I'll never push the issue, I'm too much of a gent, I wouldn't risk this friendship for a moment quickly spent. So I’ll just hold the door for you, and watch you cross the floor, Because just seeing you happy is all I’m asking for.
